The Cloak and Tater Inn
Located in the centre of the village of Littleton, The Cloak and Tater Inn is a quaint little tavern with a beautiful ale garden overlooking the river and moors.
The inn is often very busy in the evenings with workers from the local farmsteads. It is so popular with the local farmers, in fact, that the name ‘Cloak and Tater’ has become a local slang term for 'I will see you later’.
It is the only inn in the village and is owned and by a local halfling lady named Dora Goodacre.
Food
The inn is most famous for Dora’s selection of home-cooked pies, and according to the locals it is home to ‘the best damned dumpling pies in all of Asateria, thank you very much!’ The pies are cooked fresh daily and there's usually a choice of two savoury fillings, (such as Pullet, Leek and Tater, or Spiced Moorpork and Veg) and one sweet filling such as (fresh fruit, jam, or plum and ginger). Dora is an extremely proud chef, so woe be tide anyone who insults her cooking. All the ingredients for her food are locally sourced, either from the local farmsteads or from her own Moorpig Herd and Pullet Coup.Ales and Ciders
The Inn produces its own ale and cider on site, which is brewed by Dora’s only son Willett, who has also been known to tend the bar on occasion. Willett is known to be a little experimental with his ales, often producing the most interesting and unusual combinations.A Pleasant Stay
If you need a bed for the night, or you’ve had one too many of Willett’s ales, then the inn has five small rooms in the upstairs rear of the establishment, available for rent for a reasonable amount of coin. A little extra coin will get you a delicious, home cooked breakfast the morning after too. All in all, the ‘Cloak and Tater Inn’ is definitely worth a visit if you find yourself near the moors at any time and for the weary adventurer it has everything you need for a much needed rest on your journey. The Cloak and Tater Inn is located in Littleton-on-the-Moor. A small village in the centre of the Derwyn Farmsteads, just west of the Elvara Forest. With close proximity to the Dreadmoors, the farmsteads are surrounded by an Aura of Eternal Warding placed by Arelin Erragar to protect the population of the village. This protective barrier prevents anyone with Shadow Magic running through their veins from entering the village. The entrire population of Littleton and its surrounding farmsteads is 2564 souls - 1500 of these individuals are Halflings, making the village home to the largest Halfling population in all of Asateria. Halflings are thought to have been decended from the Ancient Iron Dwarves of the Jagged Mountains.
