Retirement

There comes a time in every heroes life when they may consider retiring and slowing down, perhaps to start a family, a new business venture, or to just settle down in a cozy cabin. As a player, sometimes we may want to try something new, we may get bored of just one character or we are simply satisfied with the story thats been told and are ready to close that chapter. Character retirement is an RP friendly way to end a D&D character. There are a number of ways you may do this - perhaps you conspire with the DM to orchestrate your character's untimely death, or perhaps they were killed in the line of action. Perhaps they took their earned fortune to travel the world, or pursue greater adventures elsewhere. Or, perhaps your character stayed. Another option is to have your character effectively converted into an NPC, still living in the game world, however controlled by the DM. This would require the player to relinquish all control over the character from that point on.
