Rune Gate
Designed by ancient civilizations long ago, Rune Gates were major feats of arcane architecture that allowed mass travel of creatures and objects across vast distances, even to other planes. Rune Gates are typically a two-dimensional, often up to 15 feet (4.6 meters) circle or oval area that was both intangible and invisible. Due to this, a freestanding archway of some kind usually was built around it to identify the location. Passing through a Rune Gate was described as an unsettling experience: the space between the "fabric of the planes" was entirely dark, devoid of air and offering no sensation of temperature. Like Teleportation Circles, each Rune Gate has a unique combination of arcane runes that defines its location. To travel between Rune Gates, you must correctly enter the rune combination of the destination gate. Since the calamity, Rune Gates have all but fallen to myth, thought to have been destroyed or perhaps not existed at all.
