Session 2: 29/05/2023
Asterlynn 11th, early morning until noon of Asterlynn 12th in the year 333 AI
Cragmaw Hideout:
We rejoin our fearsome threesome at the Cragmaw hideout, having left the Goblin cooking to continue their exploration. Following the tunnel they end up in a cavern with two large pools, held by a system of dams. Seemingly if an alarm is raised the Goblins have prepared a trap, a flood to be sent through the cave. Fortunately, our adventurers are the quiet type. Moreover, it's the middle of the night...
In the cavern two Goblins are on duty, but only one even tries to take it seriously, the other is lying against a column. Kriek is trying to get Jupke to be responsible to no avail. Distracted the Goblins soon fall to the party's might. After having pointed them towards the prisoners. They need to double back. Returning to the cooking fire they notice something gruesome... the Goblin's dinner seems to have been... arm stew!
Some sleeping spells later, the Goblins are beheaded... Slashed to pieces by a scimitar or burned to a crisp. Sildar has been released and starts off with a rather impulsive and somewhat annoying first impression. Compelling the party to finish what they started and kill all Goblins they set out to do so reluctantly.
To the other cavern they go, however this time their stealth fails them and Klarg, his pet wolf and last minion, Frederic expect them. A battle ensues, but with great teamwork and some... moral support from Sildar the tide soon turns. Some mockery later Klarg's ego is so wounded he tries to flee down the chimney like a miserable Santa. All luck fails him though... as he drops to his death... Klarg the Majestic is no more.
The party searches the cave finding a bit of treasure, stolen goods belonging to the Lionshield Coster in Phandalin and a javelin. The friendly tiefling proves to be an animal friend. As Liberty feeds the remaining chained up wolves she manages to gain their trust enough to manage releasing their chains. However grateful the wolves are, they still decide to heed the call of freedom. With a last look at Liberty they set of out of the cave, into the forest...
Identifying the goods and supplies as belonging to the Lionshields, Sildar promises the party a reward will come their way if they return them. So they set out to load the cart and return to Phandalin. The hideout has been cleared!
Phandalin:
In the early morning a cart reaches Phandalin and stops at the Lionshield coster. Here our party meets the owner: Linene Graywind. After some poking by Sildar she sleepily opens the door and offers the threesome their reward (after some negotiating). The party leaves the goods and goes in search of accomodations. Led by Sildar to the Stonehill Inn.
Liberty and Stone Head get a room and set out to sleep the sleep of heroes. However, Resnalore took advantage of her Eladrin heritage and already slept during the trip back to Phandalin.
Smitten by Pip, the son of the owners, she strikes up a flirtatious conversation, getting to know him and his family. As the hours fly by more family members join the conversation, as well as some early birds that like to have a drink before work. Soon, Resnalore manages to gather a lot of gossip and information.
