Enclave Esoterica

A loose confederation of thaumaturges and other students of the mystical who are not themselves possessed of magical abilities, the Enclave is best described as a network despite its formal member base. With friends and members across the four continents of Astion, an ally of the Enclave is never far from aid if they know where to look.   Some trace roots of the Enclave back to dawn of humanity's conquest of western Ocuria,  while others argue it dates back to humankind's origins on Skjöldur. Regardless, the Enclave now possesses centuries of experience in dealing with the many unseen truths that govern much of the world.   The first organization of its kind, the Enclave's current form undisputably arose in the wake of Acorant's founding. Inspired by the works of the healer Sheru, the scholar Alim, and the gatekeeper Kai, a generation of thinkers and truth seekers devoted their lives to understanding that which had for so long gone unnoticed. These eager students sought the expertise of the three inspirational sages, only to find that the masters' patience for teaching was limited. From hundreds of aspirants, they took on the single pupil who met all of their exacting standards: K'chat.   After years of work with each of the three sages, K'chat emerged from her studies a master of esoterica in her own right. She began to take students of her own, and with far less prejudice than the sages had shown over a decade hence. Within another decade, the Enclave was officially founded and its first members sworn in. Bound to no government or otherise authoritative entity, the newly-minted alliance of thaumaturges would devote itself to the discovery of truth and the protection of civilians from that which would bring them harm.
