Geiron

Located at the intersection of the Northvale Trail and the Imperial Highway, Geiron is a small town that sees a constant flow of visitors into its marketplace. Perched atop a higher-than-average rise in the land at the edge of the Rolling Expanse, the town is the highest point for many miles around. As such, its residents are constantly bombarded by the near-ceaseless wind that blows off the golden plains. To counteract this, most buildings and houses are constructed in a way that allows all windows and doors on each side of the structure to be opened or closed simultaneously, to block or allow the wind to pass through.

Demographics

Mostly Human, but with a solid mix of dwarves, elves, half-elves, gnomes and halflings. Traders and other travelers frequent the market at the base of the hill, so a smattering of Lupe, Aaenshi, Grung, and the occasional Gnoll can be found as well.

    Points of interest

Hilltop Bell Large contraption made of slats and gears that rotates beneath the bell. Wooden pegs push or pull the clapper as minutes tick by, then release it at the top of the hour, allowing it to toll.

    Architecture

Most houses and buildings have contraptions on the side with gears and pulleys, that rotate flaps or shutters as the wind takes them, allowing the townsfolk to keep the ever -present wind and dust out of their houses by closing/opening windows/doors/etc.

    Geography

Perched at the crest of a small hill overlooking the intersection of the Imperial Highway and the Northvale Trail. Made up of houses designed to block or catch the near-constant wind that sweeps over the plains.

    Climate

Moderate/temperate climate. Constant wind off the plains leads to mostly dry weather, though the occasional rain does pass through from time to time.

    Natural Resources

The land in the surrounding area is mostly flat, and steeped in the many nutrients from the nearby swamps at the edge of the Northvale Woodlands. Because of this, the soil in this area is very fertile, and farming is prevalent, though not the staple of the community by any means.    Husbandry of horses and other livestock is also common, and trade of all animals and goods flows through the towns marketplace at a healthy rate.
