Porphatys

Porphatys, or more fully, Porphatys of the Black Snow, is the fifth layer of the Outer Plane of Carceri.

Geography

Porphatys looks like a bead of planet-sized orbs without a string. The distance between two orbs is several million miles. The cold orbs of Porphatys are each covered by a shallow ocean. The water is cold and acidic, and hypothermia and disintegration are very real risks when wading or bathing in it. Another feature of Porphatys is the constant black snow, which was also acidic, and especially dangerous to organic matter, making travel from one orb to another dangerous, as giant clouds of it lay in the space between the orbs. The ocean has small islands of the height of sandbars. They have many caves and were desired living space for the inhabitants, who generally sought to leave the layer altogether.

Locations

The Ship of One Hundred - The ghostly pale ship, also called the White Caravel, harbored a hundred sarcophagi. Opening one made everyone on the ship disappear by unknown means.
