Tharizdun
The Chained Oblivion
Tharizdun is the god of madness in the Astorian Pantheon. As punishment for creating The Abyss, the good-aligned gods banded together to contain him in his own creation. Known as The Chained God, he lies at the heart of The Abyss, plotting his revenge, straining against the chains that hold him in place, and manipulating his followers toward the annihilation of the Prime Material Plane and the Gods who defend it.
Tharizdun does not directly commune with his followers. In fact, no soul living can claim to have heard the voice of The Chained God. His followers do, however, claim to have been granted visions or dreams that provide them with the will of Tharizdun. Whether this is the truth, or just the ramblings of madmen is uncertain.
Just as no living soul has ever heard Tharizdun speak, so too has no one actually seen The Chained Oblivion. His followers scrawl a counter-clockwise jagged spiral on their banners and communiques to each other, and as such the Chained God's true form is believed to be an amorphous, pitch-black, roiling form, though none can be certain of this.

Tenets of Faith
Tharizdun doesn’t speak to his followers, so his commands are unknown, but his cults teach their members to:
- Channel power to the Chained God, so he can break his chains.
- Retrieve lost relics and shrines to the Chained God.
- Pursue the obliteration of the world, in anticipation of the Chained God’s liberation.
