Zehir

The Cloaked Serpent

Zehir is the evil god of darkness, poison, and assassins in the Astorian Pantheon. Snakes are his favored creation, and the Yuan-Ti revere him above all other gods, offering sacrifices to him in pits full of writhing serpents. His methods are aggressive, yet subtle. He likes his wishes to be carried out quietly, but boldly and does not forgive failure, though those who continue to please him can expect to be richly rewarded.

Zehiric clerics are called Venomers and he draws many worshipers from the ranks of the yuan-ti that are unhappy with the detachment of Sseth. High-ranking clerics are referred to as "Low Priests." In a society of snake men, being low is considered a positive attribute. The unholy gesture of Zehir was the sign of fangs.

Zehir rarely graces his followers with his presence, but when he does, he appears as a massive black snake shrouded in shadow and covered in impenetrable scales and poisonous barbs.
