New Lyanir

New Lyanir was a small settlement on Horizon notable for being the 2nd ever Human settlement in the Galaxy of Astraesto. Following a series of natural and manmade disasters at the site of the settlement, it was abandoned, and lost. It was the first time nature pushed back at humanity's colonisation of the Galaxy.
Initially envisioned as a research outpost, New Lyanir eventually expanded to the civilian population, as well as serving as the location of a significant military base. Construction on the new settlement would begin in 1AC, 12 months after New ___ was first settled. The initial stage of the new city was a great success, and many early colonists would flock to the area after hearing the good news, and stake out their own territory for themselves.
New Lyanir would continually grow for the next half-decade, as even more settlements began to pop up across Horizon. Though Lyanir was soon constantly beset by earthquakes, that began to stunt the growth of the city. Constant expeditions to the nearby mountains caused rockslides, and a huge avalanche that killed thousands and dealt significant damage to building in the city.
Eventually, the New Terran Republic Government - the new human government in Astraesto, ordered New Lyanir abandoned, and its residents to migrate elsewhere. The military base was also abandoned, though a new special training base replaced it.
In the modern age, the area where New Lyanir was settled remains greatly desolate of human life. Large swaths of farmland now dominate the landscape, with earthquakes now a rare though not unseen occurrence.
