191: Dirty Deeds Done Dirt Cheap

General Summary

A group of four adventurers had stolen highly valuable blueprints. Yet, in truth there were four others who had taken the fall and had bounties placed upon them. While two were mere victims of circumstance, unknowingly associating with the others, the remaining two were far more sinister. Knowing that two of their supposed fellows had already been eliminated, they set a trap to hunt down and stop whoever was killing them off.
The Trap and Dirty Bob
Aiko targeted Dirty Bob, who had fortified his mountain fortress in preparation for guests. He knew they would come to take his life and thus had everything arranged to his advantage, including positioning, fortifications, and aerial support. Known as a strategist and a master of using dirty tricks to kill his opponents, Bob was not going down without a vicious fight.   However, even the most capable guard in the world would face problems when dealing with the most capable assassins. Using various tricks and tools, the adventurers obfuscated their approach and gathered information on who exactly was present. Despite Bob's superior defenses detecting the adventurers, a fight broke out. The adventurers, far more formidable than Bob had anticipated, quickly eliminated the bandits with minimal resistance.
The Final Target: Barkimus
Barkimus, the mastermind behind Bob, knew he was sacrificing a pawn to discover what he was up against. He relied on information delivered through a series of fireworks to understand the abilities and capabilities of his opponents, carefully planning against them. However, these plans would see no fruition.   Aiko would use Bob's remains as material components for a map, tracking the hound back to its master. She teleported directly to Barkimus and silenced the area around him before abruptly and violently flooding his body with various poisons. While Bob had been prepared for most forms of combat, Barkimus had always been content in the backline, never acting on his own. As a result, many of the protections he would have chosen to fight against Aiko were rendered useless by his unpreparedness.
Conclusion
With two more contracts successfully fulfilled, their rewards paid out, and the corpses prevented from ever telling the true tale, Aiko had safely guaranteed that the hunted would never tell the true secret of their innocence, and the guilt of their hunter.
