Elemental Nebulae
Sometimes, primordial magic can congregate on the material plane, forming vast nebulae of elemental power. These are most commonly formed when a collection of stars boasting portals to the same elemental plane are in extremely close proximity to each other. The outpouring of elemental magic creates an area of space suffused with it. These areas are closer to their respective elemental plane than the material plane.
A fire nebula may be filled with volcanic asteroids, and worlds scorched by clouds of rolling flame. An air nebula may be home to Aarakocra, Dragons, or other flying creatures, living on plant-covered asteroids and on planets surrounded by vast clouds. A water nebula houses strange creatures that swim in its depths, its stars a faint glimmer from the surface. An earth nebula could be a vast cave system, its stars set in vast caverns the walls of which are inhabited by plants, animals, and beings of elemental earth.
