Basic Information

Anatomy

Most hybrids are bipedal, however this is not always the case. In rare circumstances hybrids have been seen looking more like spiders or even driders than they do a standard humanoid.

Genetics and Reproduction

Hybrids are unable of reproduction, and this was not an oversite by their creators. The Founders intention was that Hybrids, while useful in many situations, would cause long term unbalance to any world they decided to inhabit - as no two hybrids are the same.

Growth Rate & Stages

Cell Stage

Hybrids start out as cells in petri-dishes in labs staffed by Founders and Gu-Gu worm colonies. The cells are activated by injecting various solutions containing cocktails of DNA containing blueprints for spinal, vascular, and neurological structures. These cocktails differ for each Hybrid, and at this stage it is determined how the creature will walk by similar cocktails.

Tube Stage

After placing the cells and growth culture in a test tube and sealing it, the cells begin to grow and develop.

Cold Storage

Once the cells have outgrown their test-tube they are placed in larger tubes and put in cold storage. This is done so that any combination of cells can be called up at anytime given the situation calls for those cells.

Adulthood

Once taken out of cold-storage the cells begin to thaw and grow rapidly, devouring sugars placed inside the frozen water of their enlarged tubes. Within 30-minutes the cells have burst out of the tube and formed a fully grown adult hybrid.

Implants

Once a fully grown adult, the hybrids are taken for surgical implants and more DNA resequencing. Some hybrids are given strength cocktails, others cocktails for speed, intelligence, charisma, and stealth. Others are given adaptations that help them breath under-water or in the vacuums of space or survive extreme colds or heats. To the Founders at this stage - the hybrids are a perfect blank slate for their modifications and experiments. Those that live this stage are sent out into the field, ready to serve the Founders and the Galactic Citizens Alliance as peacekeeprs across the stars.

Dietary Needs and Habits

Hybrids while being omnivores are given DNA resequencing that allows them to go several years without eating, although they can choose to consume food whenever they wish without detriment to their bodily health.

Uses, Products & Exploitation

Hybrids are used by the Founders and other races in the Galactic Citizens Alliance as front line soldiers in their war against the split Gith race and the monstrous Illithid who threaten all existence.

Average Intelligence

The intelligence of hyrbids varies once they hit the augmentation stage, but most are kept fairly intelligent as they are usually used in front line combat and high-risk situations where no survivors are expected.

Symbiotic and Parasitic organisms

Hybrids are all given a symbio-bot during their augmentation stage. This, as the name implies, is a nano-bot capable of causing instant destruction of the hybrid should one be captured by the enemies of the Galactic Citizens Alliance. These symbio-bots are also responsible for regulating the augmentations of the hybrid, and preventing the base DNA culture from rejecting any modifications, although these nano-bots have been known to fail - resulting in horrific, spontaneous death.
