Maneser, Lord of Bargains

Pronounced (Man-es-er or MAN-es-ER)

Myths and Legends

A Pelorian myth tells of Manaser being a clearly evil and malicious ancient deity, and brother of Pelor. In it Maneser is in control of Pelagius sister's soul, however the follower of Pelor was unshakeable, and gains sainthood upon besting the Lord of Bargains in a game involving the giantish pantheon. Pelagius in the end gained an evil cloud giants spell book. With it he performed a ritual to transport himself to Maneser plane. There he confronted Maneser in a bargain for his sisters soul, offering his weapon Lillandril, but instead Maneser returned with a riddle. If Pelagius could answer it he might get his sister's soul, but if he failed Pelagius' own soul would be Maneser's. The story concludes with Pelagius answering him correctly and retrieving his sister's soul.

Throator

Similar to the Beastlands, a palace built atop a storm cloud, but where the Beastlands palace is made of silvery marble, Maneser's is made of black adamantine.

Pelagius' Ritual

In order to make a gate to Throator appear, Pelagius had to mix Orc's blood with Amber, mix the Unicorn's horn with (snow-grass), mix the (demon's) heart with Ectoplasm (night - midday sky) and then poured the mixture on the symbol in that order.
