Pixie

Basic Information

Anatomy

Perhaps the best-known and most elusive of all fey creatures, pixies live in the deepest, most pristine forests, but their insatiable curiosity often leads them far from home. Most pixies stand just over 2 feet tall—though they typically fly about the eye level of creatures they’re conversing with in order to maintain eye contact—and weigh about 30 pounds. Pixies talk quickly and easily become overexcited.

Harvesting

Because this creature is an Fey, the player should roll a Arcana Check using the DCs in the table below. On a success, the player is able to harvest the item. On a failure, the item cannot be harvested (either because the character is not skilled enough, or because the item is ruined). The DM should note that many of the items have an expiration, and can not be sold or used after the expiration has passed.

DC Item Description Value Weight Exp. Crafting/Use
15 Pixie Dust (small pouch) Pixies have tiny gossamer wings, like those of dragonflies, which shed tiny flecks of shimmering dust when they fly. When a pixie dies, the dust is difficult to see, and it is often hard to harvest a sufficient amount. The dust has a variety of uses, especially among spellcasters and alchemists. 3 gp 1lb Never

Harvesting Meat

There is a stigma to eating meat belonging to sentient creatures that have a humanoid form and features. Harvesting the meat may be frowned upon and even considered cannibalism. Some communities may refuse to buy the meat (and some evil communities may pay a premium). The meat may even be difficult to eat, or unedible. Of course, these are all up to the Dungeon Master to decide.
This creature produces 1d1 pieces of meat, weighing a total of 4 lbs a piece.
