Tabaxi

Tabaxi (pronounced: /tɑːˈbæksi/ ta-BÆK-see or: /tɑːˈbɑːʃi/ ta-BAHSH-ee), also known as jaguar people, tiger people, lion people, or cat-men, were a race of feline humanoids native to the jungles of Veluntia.

Moons and the Tabaxi Breeds

Both a Tabaxi's appearance and physiology depend on the Lunar Lattice of Mun and Minmus during the time of its birth. These appearances can vary drastically from one breed to another, with some Tabaxi resembling the common house cat, other Tabaxi resembling huge bipedal jaguars, and others being almost indistinguishable from Men or Mer.   The main variants of Tabaxi can be separated into four distinct groups, each depending on the phases of Asyur's larger moon, Mun. Depending on the phase of Minmus, the Tabaxi will take on one of four main appearances.

Tabaxi Breeds

In all, there are seventeen known breeds of Tabaxi, though there are supposedly more than twenty:

Lerlapa– The Lerlapa is a fierce, tiger like Tabaxi not unlike the Lerlapa-lohi and is roughly the size of a High Elf when standing on its hind legs. The Lerlapa is also one of the few Tabaxi to be used as a steed by other Tabaxi. This is thought to be voluntary, but is unconfirmed. Lerlapa-Lohi – The Lerlapa-lohi is by far the largest of known Tabaxi breeds, standing at twice the size of any High Elf. These Tabaxi received the term "battlecats" for their use as steeds, though they are slower than their Senche counterparts. Nui – Sharing the appearance of a Tiger, the Pahmar is usually just as large and fearsome. Lerlapa-Nui – Similar in appearance to the Pahmar, but is much larger, stronger and fiercer.

Basic Information

Anatomy

Tabaxi were taller than most humans at six to seven feet. Their bodies were slender and covered in spotted or striped fur. Like most felines, Tabaxi had long tails and retractable claws. Tabaxi fur color ranged from light yellow to brownish red. Tabaxi eyes were slit-pupilled and usually green or yellow.
Conservation Status
With the destruction of the only two tribes of Tabaxi at the hands of the Admer Empire, the Tabaxi are in a fight for survival. Not just for their culture, but their very species.
