The God Killer
In the mouth of a 20' wide alcove south of the altar basin stands an idol or statue of serpentine stone, expertly sculpted to depict a writhing, amorphous agglomeration of fish, eels, octopi, and other marine monsters. This horrid thing is about eight feet high and nearly as broad, the whole forming a globular mass standing about four feet from the altar basin. The alcove to its rear is ten feet deep, the back wall of which is covered by a drapery apparently fashioned from seaweed and water! The God Killer is a magical construct referenced in the records of Bahamutian Rhapsody. It was responsible for halting almost all surveys of the Temple of Elemental Evil's second sub-floor. When first encountered, it was recorded that it was successful in separating the party, and corning the group's rouge, a human woman named Tyra. The rouge would panic, breaking down into a mental fit, thinking she was back at the moathouse's kitchen eating with the party. This was all however a trick by her own brain to protect her from the visual horror approaching her, as well as to comfort her in her final moments before being smashed to a pulp by the God Killer. It is believed that the God Killer is a stone juggernaut that was cross-bred with a mimic, resulting in its many eel-like appendages being able to move and act as if not made of the hardest of stone. The exact material that the God Killer is made out of is unknown, but it was speculated by Bahamutian Rhapsody to have been made of hematite and polished to be pitch black.
