Back to Monterra pt. 3 Report

General Summary

The Scions fight Syllin and her kill squad on the hot springs overlooking Abraxis's lair.  Syllin retreats into a dimensional portal after being defeated by the party, and Abraxis manages to just barely kill the red dragon pursuing him before landing to thank the Scions for the assistance.
Before he can properly thank the Scions, a huge shadow appears over the battlefield and hellfire rains from above, turning the ground to glass and killing Abraxis.  Trogdor lands, eats Abraxis's heart, and then spreads his wings and lets out a terrifying roar.  Eating Abraxis's heart seems to have made him somehow stronger.  He taunts the party, and threatens to burninate Monterra before he heads back north to destroy Balthazar.
Before he can attack, Rayuuv uses the Staff of Shifting Worlds to teleport the Scions to the lighthouse in Monterra.  Wanda posits that Trogdor is increasing his power by hunting and eating the hearts of weaker dragons, as she had done in her timeline.  
The Scions return to the governor's mansion to find Claudius and Pullo fretting over a map.  A group of irregulars, led by the Krom Krushers, were able to hold off the Black Brigade but the Krom Krushers and several soldiers were captured.  Pullo says there's enough time for the Scions to rescue the Krom Krushers if they hurry; the party rests up and takes the fastest horses from the governor's stables to ambush the Black Brigade's prison convoy.
While the Scions ride off to rescue the Krom Krushers, Pullo prepares the city against a pending attack from Trogdor...
