Alvoro Bay Invasion

The Alvoro Bay Invasion was a failed landing operation that took place in 1851 as part of the Galdemar Rebellion.   In 1850, in response to a plea for help from the Viscounty of Sodmar, the Kingdom of Hildonia elected to enter the war to help their allies defeat the rebel forces. After success in a few initial border skirmishes, a plan was made to assault the strategic city of Rubendale by sea in early 1851. The plan hinged on the support of Kassothi corsairs called to answer the Old Oath. Unfortunately, only a small flotilla commanded by Captain John Foote arrived to help the invasion. With their forces much smaller than intended, the Hildonian fleet was not strong enough to overcome the naval defenses and their forces were woefully defeated.
