Serik Thadan

Serik Thadan is a powerful elven wizard who is a member of the Eloqui Order, although his relationship with them is somewhat strained. He resides within the Arid Spire, a large tower in the Rumiyyad capital city of El-Azahdron.
Serik has stated himself to be upwards of two hundred years old. In his past he once numbered among the Sable Circle, the elite order of archmages who run and dictate policy for the Eloqui Order. He once held the title of Archmage of Auspices and purports himself to be the most powerful and experienced practitioner of abjuration magic in the known world. At some point after the fall of the Empire of Räsgard Serik began to grow apart from the rest of the Sable Circle, taking umbrage at the Order's focus on maintaining and growing their power, and the increasingly ruthless ways they began to pursue this goal. Eventually, Serik willingly stepped down from his post due to his inability to go along with the Order's methods. He fled to his personal stronghold known as the Arid Spire, located in the Pauper's Tract section of the Rumiyyad capital city of El-Azahdron.
Due to his mastery of the school of abjuration, while in his tower Serik has stated that he is untouchable by even the most powerful members of the Sable Circle. However, he purports that should he ever leave it would not be long before the Order would attempt to send intercessor mages to apprehend him; Serik believes that the Eloqui see him as a loose end and wish to permanently silence him. However as the two forces remain in a standoff Serik occasionally perpetrates work for the Order if it comes to El-Azahdron, if for no other reason than to keep the intercessors away from his business.
