This Lumberjack is Not Okay

Joined by Grayson, Darien and Smithy head to examine the various mills in an attempt to find and confront Rais Vedoma. Along the way, they pass one mill site and learn that Vedoma had passed by for an inspection but had left a few hours ago heading north. As the group prepares to leave, one of the workers becomes pinned beneath a rogue log and is trapped on the mill's conveyer belt heading towards the saw. Grayson runs to shut down the equipment while Darien attempts to left the log off the trapped worker. Together, they prevent a tragedy in the nick of time. While Smithy heals the worker, the mill's headman thanks Grayson for his assistance. Grayson learns that contrary to what he was told by Weller, the workers had been told they would only be receiving two months' pay as compensation for the milling operations being scaled back. Grayson says that he'll look into it, suspecting Vedoma was embezzling the wages.

Meanwhile, Darien is approached by a former comrade-in-arms; Osmar Padroma, his former basun aboard the Moonfall while he was in the Hildonian military. Padroma is shocked to see Darien alive, but Darien tells him to keep it secret.

The trio head further north and confront Vedoma at the abandoned mill at sunset. There she reveals herself to indeed be corrupt; it was she who leaked the sealant recipe with the intent of selling it to the Tracery. However, her partner in crime had been found out and now she was trying to cut her losses by staying undercover until she could steal the workers' compensation and flee to Hildonia. She attacks the three adventurers, hoping to silence them. In the course of battle the mill is destroyed and Darien is grievously wounded, but Vedoma is able to be subdued by Grayson, who reveals himself to be Burton Weller's son. With Vedoma in shackles and Darien injured, he and Grayson make camp in the woods to recover while Smithy heads out aboard Kerrygold to fetch the Holy Diver and facilitate their exit from town.
