Session 18 Report
General Summary
An unexpected battle commences with the grotesque creature. It strikes with relentless ferocity as it's multiple arms brandish many weapons at once, though it attacks with little tactical awareness, more like an animal lashing out in pain. Eventually the party puts the creature down.
Behind the heavy metal door, a goblin speaks to the party, surprised that they were able to slaughter his "pet". After consulting with minions, the goblin decides to unlock the door for them, bidding them to come through as a test of the strength of their flesh. Valqinor's detect item spell informs them that Aidan's necklace appears to be beyond the door... and moving. The party prepares a breaching plan, opening the door but covering their passage with a fog cloud and darting down the tunnel after the goblin, who seems to be the one in charge and knows about Aidan's disappearance.
A fight breaks out down the tunnel as the shaman's minions have surrounded the door. Though distracted by the fog, many quickly join the battle. The party continues down the tunnel in pursuit, rounding the corner to find another grotesque amalgam creature-- this one much larger and distorted than before, and bearing both the necklace and flesh of Aidan within it's mass of bodies.
The goblin shaman taunts them from afar, observing his minions and creation work, and speaks of the flesh being weak, but how Maglubiyet's vessel will be strong. He also notices that Lephnut is a bugbear and taunts him in goblin. As the party clashes with hordes of goblins, a swarm of rats bursts through from one of the sewer pipes nearby, and curiously do not attack any of the goblins-- they seem almost enthralled by the shaman as well and beset upon the party.

The goblin, Glivik, lashes out with magical vines but cannot put up a fight against the combined might of the party. After everyone converges on him, the shaman is knocked out to be interrogated and asked for an antidote to Lephnut's poison.
