Session 19 Report
General Summary
lieutenant
The party decides to take the bodies of Glivik and the smaller of the two mutant goblin creatures along with them as proof of what's transpired in the sewers. Exploring the area further, they find a door leading to a tunnel-- the entrance that the goblins had used to enter this abandoned section of the sewers. After what seems like several minutes and a noticeable elevation change in the tunnel, the party emerges and finds themselves in a ruined building. Given the location near the sea, and the toppled higher floors, it becomes obvious that this is an abandoned lighthouse. Yet, this building isn't quite as abandoned as hoped, as the party quickly realizes there are more goblins within the lighthouse.
A battle ensues with the party rushing into the room the goblins have set up base in. Several minions are quickly killed, and the remaining goblin leader cuts his losses and tosses himself through the window, taking a short tumble to the outside. Valqinor follows in pursuit while Lephnut and Big Richard attempt to approach from the other end, exiting the lighthouse through the door and chasing. The goblin continues running, eventually leading the party towards a rundown shack, making noises on the walls along the wall. This bizarre act is explained when a giant spider descends from the ceiling of the shack-- the goblin having been attempting to draw its attention to turn the tide of the fight. Unfortunately for him, the spider decides to eat him first.
The party now has to contend with the massive spider. Lephnut realizes that he is unable to heal except through magical means-- a side effect of the ailment from the sewers. Big Richard takes heavy damage but eventually the party fells the spider. Taking stock of the situation, the party finally has time to recuperate and rest from a grueling morning of nonstop violence.
As they set upon investigating the lighthouse and the small island they're on, they notice an intriguing sight in the distance: off to the sea, a fleet of ships approaching the docks, and off the northern gates of the city, soldiers in blue marching through the gates en masse...
