Kore's Enchanted Rapier

A lightweight weapon created primarily for thrusting, Kore Tazuka's rapier has been extensively enchanted in order to enhance both his and its ability in combat scenarios.

Mechanics & Inner Workings

Though the blade is mostly intended for thrusting, it has a cutting edge close to the tip and is sturdy enough near its base that it can be used to parry. It features a cup guard and a wrapped hilt.
Kore has placed several enchantments on the rapier using symbol magic. The spells take the form of carefully-etched symbols on various parts of the blade and guard. These include:

• An enchantment to keep the blade's tip and cutting edge keen, requiring it to be maintained less often.
• An enchantment intended to guide the rapier into place when parrying blows.
• An enchantment designed to keep the handle locked in Kore's hand, making it harder to disarm him.

The enchantments are strong, but not impervious to being countered. With enough force, the rapier can still be knocked from Kore's hand, and it does still require sharpening, but the spells do go a long way.

Manufacturing process

The rapier was created using a coal forge. Its measurements were tailored to Kore's body and preferences. It originally featured little in the way of decoration to allow Kore space to engrave his enchantments.

History

Kore commissioned the blade when he was a young adult. He has been its only owner thus far. Over time, he has developed new enchantments to place on it, gradually forming it into a formidable and distinctive weapon.

Significance

The rapier's primary purpose is to keep Kore safe and allow him to defend himself, especially now that he's in a weakened state.
