Village of Stonewatch

The village of Stonewatch is a small farming and mining village that lies just south of Stonewatch Hold and just under the shelter of the Warden's Wall. The small village has served to provide food for the keep and local army during wartime, but in recent years the mines have served as a bountiful source of wealth and trade.

The village of Stonewatch is mostly human with a few dwarven families, and a few elven families.

Government

The village of Stonewatch is governed by a village elder (who reports to the Lord of the Keep), and a small council of Elders. Small town affairs, taxation, and judicial matters are all taken care of locally. If a larger matter or problem needs assistance, the Elders will present the case to the Lord of the Keep or the Keep's Adjudicator of Ord.

Defences

The village has three town guards responsible for the safety of its townsfolk. Under normal circumstances, Stonewatch Hold hosts a standing army of about three hundred soldiers. In times of war, the village can support up to four hundred conscripts.

Infrastructure

Dotted across the landscape are many farms, a few windmills, and even an old aqueduct system that runs through the Warden's Pass from the Grey Witch River. The mines were built nearly fifty years ago and production and excavation have increased tenfold in those fifty years under the rulership of Lord Grayson Arrimoor.

Geography

Set along the rolling hills that lie before the mountains of the Warden's Wall, the countryside of the village is easy to navigate and plenty of room to spread out.

Natural Resources

There is a nearby forest of pine and deciduous tress that provides ample timber, plenty of rolling hills for sheep and goats, and the mines have produced a significant amount of iron, copper, and some pockets of gemstones.
