"Everyone, the time of delight has returned. The fishermen have reported seeing none other than Midori's Fleet, and her Floating Palace in approaching from the south. The time for jubilee is approaching. All who wish to witness the splendor are advised to book passage to Ringvolstad. It will be years until she again bestows us with her grandeur."   Naya the bard

Midori's Floating Palace

The Floating Palace, the finest ship ever built by the famed ship builders of Reazi.   Constructed by joining 2 of the kings massive pleasure barges with a 100 m by 50 m platform, of teak. Utilizing the spell singers and their divine craft, the ship builders erected an opulent palace atop the platform, complete with all of the comforts that Princess Midori had grown accustomed to.   The upper floor was where the guest cabins fit for royalty and the guests of royalty. On the main level all manner of leisure could be accommodated, from basking decks, to lounging areas to a the grand hall where singers would entertain guests with Midori and her companions looking on from their seats of dignity, dining on meals of the highest caliber.

Midori's Floating Palace was not a charity after all, it was a profitable endeavor.   The Floating Palace would arrive in port and dock staying for as long as Midori pleased, from a Fortnight to the turning of a season, as long as the profitability remained. When the locals would begin to tire of the wonders, the Floating Palace would raise their anchors and move on to the next port with a large deep harbors to receive them.

Midori's Legacy

Princess Midori fulfilled her greatest desire. The Floating Palace brought her to nearly every port of call, large enough to accept her pleasure barge. Soon she had visited every corner of Atiz. She fell in love with the world and all the people in it that she nearly forgot where her true home lied, and what duties that accompanied her destiny. After 15 highly profitable years aboard her floating palace he received word that her kingly father's health was failing, and duty brought her home.   Saddened by the idea that her Floating Palace would no longer be visiting the many exotic ports of Atiz, and longing for the continued profitability, She reluctantly took her rightful place as Queen of the Reazi.   Her first act as queen was to decree that the palace would continue to travel the world. At its helm, a new hostess would preside, and her title would be Midori. Not a day would pass where she did not revisit these places in her memories, and she wished that they never forget her as well.   To this day, her floating palace travels from sea port to sea port, spilling its festival onto the lands it visits, opening its gambling halls to the residents, and entertaining them with the songs and dances of Reazi.

Midori - Queen of Reazi

When Midori was a young Princess in the land of Reazi, she dreamed of travelling the world. She was the eldest of King Faruz, and heir to his throne. Her duty was to learn the ways of the court, prepare to one day lead her people. She longed for more. She wanted to sail the islands of Wu Lin, to see the jungle of pyramids in Mahua Rel, to climb the Ygdrasili Redwoods in Valsgard and look out over the endless sea of trees.   Her place was in Reazi, and the tall dunes of red sand and the lush riverlands would be all that she knew. The smallfolk would love her, and they would fear her, as any strong ruler before her.   When Midori was still a teenager, she ran away from the palace and rode her horse into the desert. A sand storm rose from the dunes, swallowing Midori. Her father sent his guards out into the storm searching for the princess when he realized she was gone along with her horse.   The storm raged for hours, and Midori almost succumbed, just as she was about to collapse she found herself at the mouth of a cave. She and her horse were able to hide in the safety of the cave and ride out the storm. When the storm finally calmed, two days had passed. Exhausted, hungry and nearly dying of thirst, she reluctantly returned to the palace, accepting that world was more dangerous than she was prepared to handle.   Her father was so grateful for her return that he agreed to allow her to travel as she pleased, if she would do it safely. He commissioned a ship large enough to carry her entire household guard, the ship's massive crew and a thousand attendants to keep her company

This is such a wonderful image. I love that she returned back to her duty and then made Midori a title so the palace could continue to sail around the world.
