Nifel

Header Artist - Avant Choi - Artstation.com   Nifel is a hard land, and the settlers of Nifel reflect that. The desert is dry and hot, and the glasscrafters work in the harshest conditions imaginable laboring long hours in front of the kilns and furnaces constantly stoking the fires to extreme heats.   Life is hard in Nifel, and it is not a place for the weak. Very few people choose to live there, and those that do, often are running away from their past.   Like many outposts on the fringes of society, Nifel has become a hotbed for criminals, and runaways.   Questions are unwelcome, and a criminal underground has sprung up, mostly dealing with the black market trading of stolen Valsgardi glass.   It is known all across Valsgard that Nifel is a dangerous place for many reasons, and ones safety is never guaranteed.   Fortunes are made in the frontier, however most that attempt it are never heard from again.   Crime may be abundant, but Nifel will remain world famous for it's Valsgardi Glass.

History

In the early days of the Valsgardi Empire, the desert region in the eastern reaches of the continent, was discovered to be rich in the materials used to make the finest glass products in the known world.   Nifel became the capital of the glass making world, and it became home to the all the glass crafters in Valsgard as well as the traders, and merchants of glass from all corners of the world.

Geography

The deserts of the Badlands of Pel, are harsh and hospitible.    To the west are the Grey Mountains.   To the south lies Reavers Bay, and to the east lies the ocean.   The Badlands of Pel are red, dry and dusty.   The arid rocky ground is nearly barren save for the few oasis' that can be found in the region, the largest lies at the center of Nifel.

Natural Resources

The ground is rich in crystaline soil, which is the chief ingredient in the Valsgardi Glass.
