Circus Flotillas

There are several groups of ships known as Circus Flotilla's moving from port to port throughout the Western Kingdoms and beyond. These Flotilla's are intended to move mobile circuses to a port where they stay, set up a camp, then tear the camp down again after they have entertained the populace for a while. Originally started by groups of Halflings aching to wander and explore the world, they are still largely managed and staffed by Halflings to this day. While some of the classical attractions such as "Strong Men" or "Bearded Ladies" may be of almost any other ancestory. These circuses are generally of good repute, provide entertainment and relaxation and amazing food for the ports that they stop in. They are rarely harassed by the authorities because they actually stimulate economies of the ports they stop in. People will make several days travel to see them, spend money in the local economy and return home again with stories of a lifetime. In addition Halflings are basically good honest folk to begin with. Circus Flotilla's recruit some of the finest bardic acts in the world, perform plays, and pay well to collect interesting menagerie's. Some of the larger Circus's have even commissioned specially designed ships to transport unusually sized animals such as elephants or giraffes or occasionally even more exotic and occasionally dangerous beasts. One of the most famous circus' (and also one of the largest) "Mandy and Mimpy's Menagerie and Circus" actually has a silver dragon they occasionally display. How they tamed the beast or even keep it in the cage is a mystery.

I had never seen something so amazing before in my life! They transformed an empty field into a fairground filled with sights to see and the most amazing food. I probably spent more than I should but it was worth it.
