Love carvings of Saxony

Deep in the woods of Saxony where the Druids and other practitioners of of primal or nature magic harvest Dreamsap (see [Dreamsap and Dreamtime]) , trees need to be marked to distinguish which trees are the ones enchanted and altered for sap. Knowing being caught practicing primal magic can result in a rather unpleasant execution, the marking for the trees need to be extremely covert. It is not uncommon for lovers to stray into the woods and carve their initials into trees.

The secret practitioners of nature and primal magics take advantage of this by marking the trees with initials. Obviously these initials cannot be their own, instead they use a series of codes in the initials to indicated that dates that the tree was altered, and the date that the tree was tapped for the sap. Being in tune with nature, these practitioners are fully aware of the health of the tree. They only take as much from the tree as is healthy, and in return they tend the tree in their visits to collect sap.

Indeed part of the disguise for the practitioner is to make the trees around it or the grove itself appealing to lovers. Tending the grove in secret so that many people find the place appealing creates security. With that many people visiting the woods for romance the druids would be just another visitor. Then when no one is around they will gather small amounts of the Dreamsap from the tree carving that they need for Dreamtime.

I know the perfect place for you to take her, its so romantic she will love it. The moonlight lights the place up nicely and the weather is perfect for it. Take her out there, tell her you love her, and if you like, carve your initials in one of the trunks out there too, a mark of your love that will last for years!
