Natural Magic practices in Saxony

After King Jacob passed the laws against the practice of occult (and by accident, Natural Magic as well) many of the Druids native to Saxony moved to other realms. However many stayed and were instead driven underground. This required that they form some kind of organization to protect both themselves and fellow practitioners. This loose organization of cells took several years to coalesce, but eventually cells learned to identify themselves and others with a series of catch phrases they embedded into conversations, as well as symbols that could easily be erased or concealed. These symbols revolved around the concept of Yggdrasil the World Tree of Nordenlant legend. When looking for fellow practitioners in a new town, a druid or other natural practitioner might say something like "Tomorrow I think I will relax for lunch under a nice tree" or he might scuff a rough picture of a pine tree in the dirt in the market while talking to someone then scuff it out if they don't respond. The conversational mentions are so innocuous that very few are ever caught. Natural Magic practitioners meet in the woods at secret rendezvous, but more and more of them are meeting in private homes and taking Dreamsap (see Dreamsap and Dreamtime) in seclusion. In these cases fellow practitioners are required to be present, as the practitioner needs the security while they are under the influence of the drug, as well as someone for the neophytes to discuss the experience with.

Culture

Shared customary codes and values

laying subtle clues in a conversation about their interests in Nature magic is a subtle art form since practicing it without subtlety is a good way to find yourself burned at the stake. While witch hunters have attempted to get natural magic practitioners to give up their fellows, they are rarely successful.

Ideals

Beauty Ideals

Natural practitioners do not avoid metals or other objects as some witch hunters believe, instead they have a deep resonant appreciation of natural art. They don't simply prefer wood to metal, instead they they look for beautiful woods with character and fine workmanship. Given a choice between "plain" wood or metal, they will take the higher quality instead.
