Ether

Is the energy that all magic, life, and death are made of. Souls are ether, a piece of it, with a consciousness.

It is life and death at the same time. Life is ether without death and death is ether in absence of Life. Ether in balance, having the same amount of life and death cancel each other out and means true death. Typing it in one or the other direction will create (give birth) or bring back creatures as we commonly know them, or create (bring to the existence, transform living to undead), bring back undead creatures like vampires and gulls. The absence of both is the void, the nonexistence and it can have consciousness too. If so it is a void creature that can't be killed or be revived and is unaffected by all necromantic and life-spending magic.
