Newtown
City of the First Men
Newtown is the largest city in The Lavish Kingdom. It is built atop the ruins of Oldtown, the first city recorded to have been built by Quoran peoples. It is said that the event known as, the Day the Dragon Moved, caused the destruction of Oldtown and caused a major shift in the ground surrounding the ruins. The precious materials found in the earth and mountains surrounding Newtown are seen as the main reason for its technological advancement compared to other regions.
While it is the largest city in the Lavish, it is not its capital city. In fact, Newtown operates largely independently from the lands surrounding it, having its own major and laws. The city does not use Lionguard to keep the peace but has its own police force called the NTPD. Funding for the city comes largely from trade with the many kingdoms, its advantageous location at the mouth of the Gash allows the city to reach any of the other kingdoms both by sea, by land as well as by air.
Newtown's technology is rarely made available to the public, however, since the High-King does not want anyone kingdom to gain a severe technological advantage over another which could lead to war. The only time Newtown technology has been used in war has been to win the War of Independence where the Alliance's lack of manpower was compensated for by the automatons of Newtown Bot Builders. The war also introduced the firearm to the Kingdoms. Seeing the amount of destructive power these weapons held, Leobert Leowen limited the amount of imported weaponry throughout the kingdoms.
