Vonder Den
A few moons ago, a piece of the Broken Moon crashed into the Inner Sea in between the major continents of Atlas. The collision caused a massive crater to form surrounded by volcanic mountains forming almost a new continent. The crater is incredibly deep, the bottom is invisible to the naked eye and from it escapes a purple smoke which has been corrupting the waters surrounding it. The crater has been called "the Den" by some which is from where the island gets its name. The Den has been attempting to spread its corruption to the other continents of the world, though many have been able to use magic to resist the spread. The only continent truly affected is Engalad, The Forgotten Isle, where the highest concentrations of monstrous races reside. These monsters have begun migrating to the civilised realms of the west and east to escape the fate of being corrupted.
These migrating creatures pose a big threat themselves, but from within the depths of the Den have also arisen creatures of pure concentrated darkness, they wish to corrupt the world and make it their own, and as of now, there is no one prepared enough to stop them from achieving that goal.
