Evpevoim (Ewp-voym)
May the fall of Evpevoim be a reminder, that no matter what we think of, the Ground below will remain as dangerous as it ever was.-Last words in the Diary of Evpevoim.
Description
Evpevoim was first attempt in centuries to build a human city on the Ground below.A massive ring made out of Devoid was supposed to shield the city from both the Flow and the Corruption. Basic tents and easy-to-make houses for the construction workers were everything the Evpevoim had before it was overwhelmed by the unhappy ecosystem.
Inhabitants
The only inhabitants of Evpevoim were its construction workers from all ethnicities of Atocitera. Flowsmiths manipulating the Devoid into the shielding rings. And overseer Krabkiat, responsible for planning the construction and rationing of supplies and scheduling of work. Supplies were being delivered by groups of Raiders, each raider was unhappy about delivering supplies to Evpevoim. As it meant less of their precious time was available for Raids to provide supplies for their homes. Some of the Raiders were even instructed to stay at the construction and aid with needed defenses.Construction and what enabled it
The main enabling factor in the creation of Evpevoim was the discovery of the Devoid element. This first synthetic element allowed creation of Void shrine. Evpevoim was essentially a scaled-up Void shrine. The goal was to create a Devoid ring large enough to house a growing settlement. But the construction was Flawed.
Instead of starting small and making a shielding ring fast, with a size just enough to protect the construction base, the construction was creating the shielding ring via four segments, each quarter of the whole.
So the construction had no protection due to the ring being incomplete, and the ecosystem surrounding Evpevoim was increasingly irritated by the effects the massive amount of Devoid had on it.
The fate of the city
Evpevoim was plagued by not enough supplies, bad construction projecting, and facing dangers outside the scopes of calculation of the whole Council of Planners. Even though the construction was considered as risky and needed supplies carefully calculated, something in the whole project went awry.During its construction, the Evpevoim was facing night attacks from all kinds of animals, beasts, and monsters. These constant attacks were causing increased strain on the supplies and manpower. When the construction of the third segment was nearing its end, the city got overran by all kinds of inhabitants of the Ground below. This level of cooperation was never seen before and the weakened inhabitants were destroyed to the last one.
The only way the people of Atocitera found out about the fate of Evpevoim was through the Diary of Evpevoim, a personal recollection of events written by Krabkiat.
The Diary has been found under his dead body, clutched in his hands. Only other personal item worth of note was Unsettling statue suspiciously resembling Krabkiat, but with quartz crystal growing through its head.
