The Ancient Parasite

Of course, not all creatures of nature are whimsical or awe-inspiring. You have forged your pact with an ancient scourge on the spirit of nature, a lecherous being of rot and decay. It might draw on the forces of nature to survive, with no true evil intent––but it might sap the powers of nature in an attempt to weaken the world, bringing its inhabitants to their knees before it even strikes. In an act of true irony, you draw on the powers of this Ancient Parasite––but if you aren’t careful, it might draw on you too.

Ancient Parasite Patrons

Curyk, the Plagebearer

His pactbound often work closely with the followers of Garghas to poison the land and actively oppose the work of Solanis and Lysora, seeing the cleansing of such disease as a vile thing.   Patron's Wrath Damage Types: Necrotic, Poison

Bonus Cantrips

When you choose this patron at 1st level, you learn the thorn whip and infestation cantrips. They count as warlock cantrips for you, but don’t count against your number of cantrips known.

Parasitic Touch

At 1st level, you have a pool of d6s that you can spend to steal life from other creatures. The number of dice in this pool equals 1 + your warlock level.   As a bonus action, when you deal damage to a creature, you can roll dice from your pool and deal additional necrotic damage equal to the result. You regain a number of hit points equal to half the amount of necrotic damage dealt. The maximum number of die you can spend at once with this feature is equal to your Charisma modifier (minimum of one die). Your pool regains all expended dice when you finish a long rest.

Withering Body

At 6th level, you have resistance to necrotic damage, and when you cast a spell that deals necrotic damage, you can add your Charisma modifier to the damage dealt.

Consume the Dying

Beginning at 10th level, when a creature dies within 10 feet of you, you regain the use of one of your Parasitic Touch dice.

Withering Soul

At 14th level, you have immunity to necrotic damage. Additionally, when you are targeted by an attack that deals necrotic damage, you can use your reaction to absorb the necrotic energy, regaining hit points equal to half the amount of damage the attack would have dealt to a creature without immunity to necrotic damage.
