Inner Farms

The largest part of the island where Kokyosareta is located is farmland, providing food for the city. The farmland is located to the north of the city itself, and a single gate leads from the farms into the city. Around the farmland watchtowers are located, with beacons to light should an enemy army attempt to cross the river north of the city itself. The inner farms house a few villages with fields in between them.

Demographics

Most of the population are poor farmers, mostly of human descent.

Defences

Watchtowers and small military outpost are dotted around the land, mostly located near the Kozui river bank. They are meant to prevent enemy armies crossing the river, but mostly serve as a forward alarm system for Kokyosareta.

Industry & Trade

The Inner Farms largely rely on food production, which mostly includes crops like wheat and other grain types. Orchards also dot the landscape, just like hop plants to aid the local ale production. The Inner Farms sell all their goods to the main city of Kokyosareta, and gets most of it's required goods from there.

Infrastructure

Most roads in the Inner farms are nothing more than just dirt farmer tracks. Some simple irrigation systems have been build, to aid with farming.

History

Before the city of Kokyosareta was founded, a series of farming communities were situated in the current Inner Farms. Most of these village still exist. When the military arrived and the city was founded, the villages started producing food for them, and where eventually offered protection by the army in exchange for a more permanent role within the city structure.

Architecture

The buildings that make up the small villages are mostly simple farmer huts, made out of wood and straw.

Geography

The terrain is very flat and is surrounded by the Kozui river on both sides. Some areas near the river are quite rocky, but some areas occasionally flood with melting water coming down from the Shadowback mountains, providing fertile land and basins that can be used to irrigate the grounds.

Natural Resources

The area is very fertile, thus is an excellent place to grow all kinds of grain and for fruit trees that can withstand the cold winters.
