Lance Corporal Jeffin Neskus is the only child in a low-ranking noble house. He joined Thrane's army as he came into adulthood to fulfil his noble and religious duties, and to defend the lands and people of Thrane. Though his piety was respected, Neskus possessed neither an engaging personality nor the inspirational talents of a leader. After the war, he joined a very obscure devotional group called the Order of the Heart Inflamed, and took up a job with Gunn-Poudre with the intention of maintaining a living from his martial skills while satisfying some civic responsibility to the Thrannish people.
