Beastkin

Beasts of the Feylands

Many new races were born within the Feylands. The Beastkin represent those groups. They are uplifted animal species, now exhibiting human-like appearances with traditional animal traits, and advanced intelligence. Most live in small isolated tribes of wild cultures, free beneath Titania, Queen of the Feylands.   The Beastkin are intentionally open. Primarily they can be capable of Primal magic, but they are open to creativity, to whatever spark of idea someone may have and want to pursue.

History

As the Feylands sprouted from the Seed, new youthful creatures took their first steps onto two legs. They became small isolated tribes sheltered within the near-endless expanse of the Feylands. These tribes respect the Fey, and obey the laws of Titania. Some even make their homes within the enormous Seed itself.   Most remain within their insular tribes, following their own way of life, far from the troubles of society. A fragile peace exists between tribes, but regular disagreements constantly threaten to transform into all-out fighting, until a Fey shows up to settle the dispute by whatever agreed upon terms. More wilder tribes exist in the Smog swampland, obeying their own way of life. Beastkin can be exiled to the Smog out of the Feylands, for defying their culture or breaking some sacred law, whether to the Fey, or to the tribe.

Clans

These are just some examples of Beastkin and does not represent all types; Catfolk, Harpies, Kappa, Monkeyfolk, adorable Birdfolk, Centaurs, etc.

Tongue

Most Beastkin speak Feytongue. Some have developed their own language that draws ancestry from the animal they originated from, and a few can speak basic Auran, particularly those who make their homes in the Seed.   Distribution: Feylands, Fortuna, Smog

Culture

Beastkin culture varies dependant on the tribe and type. They are wilder creatures, living nomadic or tribal lifestyles within the Feylands. They have a varying respect for nature. They hunt, or fish, or live off the plants alone as vegetarians. Some tribes may be more feral, wilder and dangerous, while others can be gentle, soft, and much more innocent. Tribes compete against one another for resources, and tend to be rather prideful of their own tribe. To help quell the ever-present animosity, Titania created a competitive hunt, in which various tribes compete against one another to secure the greatest kill.
