Daughters of the Crystal Lady
Following the Great Calamity, many survivors were trapped in the north, they went on a great pilgrimage in the hopes of finding sanctuary. They found it in the most unlikeliest of places. With endless Mists rolling down from the Misty Peaks, survivors were forced to travel into the northern ice caps, a frozen scape certain to be their icy grave. Instead, they found shelter inside an enormous cavern just upon the watery shores. Within lied a crystal haven, sheltered around a beautiful ice spirit, frozen solid. The Mist rolled onto the icy shores, but a magical barrier prevented monsters from approaching. The pass closed behind them, hiding them within a sacred sanctuary. Aura had provided.
Within this crystal sanctuary, a new generation was born. Blessed by the ice spirit, daughters were discovered to possess the ability to manipulate ice. The city of Chrysala was founded around the Handmaidens of their Lady. Glasarans value beauty and grace. They are a white-skinned elegant people who serve their Lady, tending to her, like a shrine maiden would tend to her shrine.

Physical Attributes
Glasarans are slim with average heights. Their skin is oft described; as white as snow. Their hair is often paler in an array of colours, green, blue, blonde, ginger. They live longer lives as a result of a much slower heart-rate, living up-to 150 years old. Chrysalans, more often than not have colourful eyes. The women are more blessed than the men, with beautiful clean skin, sensual figures, and an innate grace. All women are blessed with the magical control over ice.
Glasarans are infinitely mysterious in their appearance. Their features, while beautiful, are described as mysterious, showing very little emotion, or softer less explicit emotions. For this reason, they can come across as unapproachable, or cold, with an icy exterior. Glasarans have a cold touch and are naturally more resilient to the cold.
Culture
Glasaran’s are a mysterious culture of ice maidens few ever interact with. Their crystal sanctuary is hidden at the end of the world, with the passage blocked, leaving most of Aura to only speculate the beauty of their crystal palace. Often, the world’s only interaction with a Glasaran is during their pilgrimage, or on even rarer occasions, during a spectacular Glasaran dance, that sees crystal-like ice overtaking the landscape, to become the stage of their ice-dances. Dancing is a major aspect of Glasaran society, as well as shaping ice-sculptures into crystal that will not fade with heat.
Glasaran culture embraces the beauty and grace of their lady. They are a matriarchal society of infinitely thankful and devoted ice-maidens. They view it as their purpose to serve and worship their Lady. Even their leader, the Stewardess, is chosen by their predecessor from among the Handmaidens of their Lady. She personally attends to their Lady, and even bases her decisions of state depending on the shards of ice and freckles of snow that fall. They believe a snowflake to possess the words of their Lady.
Glasaran’s are known to be incredibly respectful, thankful, and devoted to returning a kindness. They exhibit traits of forgiveness, a willingness to sacrifice, and an eagerness to embrace beauty, or help beauty flourish. Chrysala is not a Glasaran’s home, they view themselves as guests in the Palace of their Lady, and thus must show respect and duty.
In-keeping with the pilgrimage that brought their ancestors to this place, young Glasaran’s leave the safety of their crystal sanctuary to journey on their own pilgrimage. Some Glasaran’s simply wish to return the favour of their lives they were granted, back to the world. Others wish to see the beauty of the world. More still, believe that they have already been blessed enough, and pilgrimage to free their Lady. They do not even know her name.
A Glasaran leaves their impact on the path they travel. They bring joy to those around them through the simplest of things, simply assist those who may or may not need it, or transform the world around them, bringing beauty. Aurans fortunate enough to meet a Glasaran on their pilgrimage, are often in awe. Societies welcome them for the beauty they bring, though in rarer cases, some may consider them a nuisance, like Aeturnians, or those who insist that they don’t need any help! “Stop freezing my plants!” For this reason, and their icy exterior, not only do they appear mysterious and hard to read, it can seem like they are ignoring you completely! Nevertheless, Glasarans are the opposite of cold-blooded.
Most male Glasarans act as hunters, gatherers, and fishermen, providing for the Handmaidens. Though, some men who possess more typically feminine traits have been known to be blessed by their Lady, and become handmaidens in their own right. They tend to be more outspoken and more visibly empathetic than their female counterparts.
