Bearlin
Bearlin, is a combination of the words goblins and bear.
Their heads mostly resemble that of goblins other than their noses which look more like a bears nose. Their body is completely covered in a rough coat of fur.
Some people call these beings bugbears though that is not their official name. Their hands and feet look similar to that of a bear and they have claws on them too. However their claws aren't long enough to be used effectively in combat so they often use weapons and armour which are usually made from leather, bone and/or copper.
The average Bearlin stands between 7 to 8 feet tall and has a strong build. They can generally be found in The Cave Layers. However they can also be encountered in mountainous regions from time to time. It is known that they have an exceptional sense of smell.
They are said to prefer stealth when approaching a foe before then overwhelming them with brutal strength. Their society is brutish and doesn't really have any laws. They operate in this sense similar to the orcs with the mindset of the act of taking proves the right of having. Instead of praying to any of the gods, they pray to made up gods which they often embody as a clay figurine.
Their religions can vary greatly from tribe to tribe.
One tribe will lay offerings in front of their god while other tribes might honour their god by decapitating their foes and impaling their skulls on spikes and leaving those spikes scattered around their territory.

Being mainly subterranean in nature, over the millennia they have come to be weary of dwarves, seeing them as bearded demons in their religions. Though this doesn't prevent them from attacking dwarves if they think they can win. Generally it would be adventurers or lost wanderers they manage to kill, rather than any type of guard or citizen from a mountain home.
If they do manage to take down a dwarf, their head is often used by the one who claimed the kill as a trophy with a great sense of pride and used to gain special privileges in their society.
