Conrad is the Count of the Rheinland county of Cronland.
Conrad and his court quietly ruled for decades without issues, slowly expanding their influence, power and lands.
Due to word getting out that he didn't seem to age, there were rumors that he and his court were vampires, nothing could be proved at the time and those that openly accused the court quickly got taken care of.
Eventually Conrad and his court decided to show the rest of Cronland the truth, armies of undead hidden in the forests and crypts of Rheinland marched out and expanded Rheinlands borders with great effect.
Border squabbles between the counts was normal, however Rheinland attacked everyone, even the king's county and declared their intentions of eventually seizing control of Cronland. Of course, using magic, let alone necromancy is abhorrent so everyone bounded together and declared war on Rheinland.

Conrad is generally regarded as well-mannered and educated.
Stories of his and his court's monstrous nature are often exaggerated, though if Conrad is angered, he will not relent in his pursuit of "justice".
