Dwarf Ranger
Dwarf rangers are the eyes and ears of dwarven settlements when it comes to the surface.
They patrol the mountain tops and surrounding areas above ground, to make sure no threat goes unnoticed. Generally dwarves don't care much for what happens on the surface, however trade with humans is mostly done above ground so making sure the roads are safe is important. Things like enemy armies suddenly appearing at the surface gate of a mountain home is also something that's not exactly what a dwarf would want to see. Obviously only dwarves that don't mind being out on the surface for extended periods of time join a rangers regiment.
While mostly used for patrol and intelligence work, they are competent combatants; this is a necessity as the surface world is dangerous filled with all manners of monsters and mysterious things.
