Halfling
The Halflings expand slowly but steadily, with new nations forming from older ones rather than conquering their neighbors. They are ruled by a hereditary Prime Minister, but it is not uncommon for such rulers to be ousted and replaced with a new line of leaders should the necessity arise.
They build houses with a large amount of spaces for growing vegetables, keeping animals and growing wood.
Even large halfling cities have the appearance of a small village thanks to the large amount of space between each house and amount of greenery visible. A typical Halfling stands three to three and a half feet tall, and weighs thirty to forty pounds. They tend to have soft, rounded features, with curly earthtone hair and large eyes. Their feet are disproportionally large compared to other races, and sport a thick layer of hair. Men tend to be a bit taller than women. Despite appearances, they are agile people, and are notorious for their ability to evade detection. The term "halfling" was derived from the fact that a halfling is around half of the size of a human, but otherwise very similar in appearance. Halflings are by nature joyful and friendly in their dealings with others. Because they live in a world where they are surrounded by larger creatures, halflings tend to avoid notice, often deliberately, or at the very least, act cordial towards the larger races. Halflings appear deceptively harmless, meaning they are often beyond the notice of enemies that might otherwise pose a threat to them. Nearly all male halflings are incapable of growing true beards, though many have long sideburns. Halfling hairstyles are often complex, with strands woven together or braided. Although halflings have an affinity for collecting valuables, they do not prefer to wear these on their person, instead preferring more comfortable clothing. Halflings, who by and large have a strong force of personality, are also intensely courageous and are more likely to retain their valor than most other humanoids, even when under the effects of a spell or other power. Magic and technology are viewed with equal skepticism by these practical-minded folk. They have the greatest respect for the most mundane everyday professions. Farmer, baker, shopkeeper and carpenters are proper jobs; scribes and lawyers are to be viewed with suspicion; sighting a Wizard is a momentous thing but all too likely to mean trouble is afoot. A solid coin is a good thing. A solid meal is even better.
