Man at arms

Men at arms are usually professional soldiers or well-off men that chose to fight and can afford some decent equipment.
Like any other type of soldier, men at arms have to buy their own equipment but being more wealthy than the average farmer, they can afford chain mail and some plate armour as well as decent weaponry.
The combat training they have can vary, some having little training, some having trained a fair bit themselves over the years and others being veterans of previous wars or conflicts.

Medium to heavy armour, good melee or ranged weapons, various pouches and water skins.

Weaponry

Swords, Maces, Warhammers, Axes, Spears and other pole arms, bows and crossbows.

Logistics

Upkeep

Payment varies but rangers from 5 silver to 1 gold a day. Food is usually supplied by the lord they are fighting for.
