Story of Lau the Mermaid
A story or tale as old as Kecklerstead itself.
A mermaid by the name of Lau lived in the Pylle River where the town of Kecklerstead now stands. Lau was always depressed and alone, the people of Kecklerstead used to hear her cry almost ever night. So one day, the people of Kecklerstead all got together one night and started playing fiddle, flute, lyre and drums at the shore of the river. Lau heard the music and stopped crying. She swam over to the shore and listened to the people of Kecklerstead play till sunrise. The music and the thought of people caring about her filled her heart with happiness. As a sign of appreciation Lau has ever since been luring schools of fish to the town, supplying it with as much fish as the people of Kecklerstead could ever need. Every now and then the people played for Lau and she listened with a big smile on her face.
