The Crows of Esterel

The Crows of Esterel is a bandit group that often attacks wealthy groups and individuals that pass through their territory to steal their gold and give some of it to the poor.
They generally don't hurt their victims unless it is out of necessity.

Smear campaigns by the nobility in the region has branded them as rutheless monsters that attack and torture the innocent.

Their leader is called Vernon Cutter, who formed the bandit group in 990 after being forced into a life of thievery.
Vernon was a nobleman in Lord Archibald Stone's court, after winning a combat tournament against Lord Archibald and humiliating him in front of hundreds of spectators, Lord Archibald ruined Vernon's name and had his wife and kids killed.
