Thrundni
Thrundni or Hand-cannoneers in Common are a dwarven ranged unit.
They use weapons that work similar to field cannons but at a much smaller scale which can be carried and fired by hand. Using black powder, they fire lead balls the size of ones eye that can do devastating damage when they hit their targets. This weapon is still relatively new and so classed unsafe, it will require another hundred years of testing before being classed as safe and allowed to replace the crossbow as the main ranged option of dwarven armies.
The weapon has been used with great success against orcs and elves. The humans have heard about this new weapon and kindly requested to see a working specimen, however the dwarves insist that the weapon isn't safe yet so will wait before sharing this technology, just like they did with black powder and field cannons.
