Magic was becoming more and more casually used by the general public.   The Church of Innos decided this can not go on any longer.

Magic was becoming more and more casually used by the general public.   The Church of Innos decided this can not go on any longer as magic is a divine gift that is to be cherished and not to be used by just anyone.   So it was decided by The Circle of Innos that all magic users that are not part of the church, are to be hunted down and killed as heretics for abusing the godly gift of magic.     It took 2 decades but the church with its many followers, paladins and priests all over the human kingdoms managed to kill almost every magic user. One notable event during this time was the burning of The Magic Library of Alexander.   To the wizard community this day was a terrible day to always be remembered.
