Noctua is the Goddess of Darkness and Shadow, sister to Eidolon Goddess of Life and Liliose Goddess of Death. She is also known as the Night Mistress and the Lady of Fortune.

"I strove to understand her enigmatic philosophy, curious to the source of the pain within her very being. Everything about her was dark and shrouded in mystery, even the way she spoke and the acts she required of me. It took years for me to understand the simple fact that I could never understand Noctua. Her mystery was as much a part of her as was the fury of the storm within Lorthion, or treachery is to Asphodel.
