Episode 19: Revenge & Sacrifice Report

General Summary

Last we left our heroes, they were injured and out in the open waters. To their horror, the creature known only as "Lorenzo" had recovered his wounds and continued to stalk and toy with the party. The situation became more and more hopeless, trapped on the Naiad with a monster intent on murdering them one by one. Tailiya confronted the monster alone, and in her love of her friends and pure hatred festering in her of this monster she lashed out and tried to fight him away. Lorenzo perhaps in a moment of glee and overconfidence decided to grapple and restrain Tailiya, perhaps using her as an instrument of fear and a message to the crew. But in this moment, Lambert and Freaf rose to a quick response to something Lorenzo could never expect and managed to pin him down and prevent him from escaping again. In anger he murdered Tailiya, driving his claws deep into her back. In a quick moment of time, Tailiya was dead. Little did she realize, while her actions led to her demise, that she provided enough time for her friends to put this monster down for good. Konna climbed the crows nest and through the last of his power forced Lorenzo to go down to the ground while Lambert provided the killing blow. It was finally over, the monster was dead, but was it worth the cost? With their ship and crew in shambles. The Scarlet Brotherhood pirate Three Rings took it as an opportunity to assert herself as their captain. Offering to take them back to Dugang and help with the Naiad's repairs. A more troubling news was who "Lorenzo" and his crew were working for. They were working for the Myriad, a notorious name that makes even the Pirate Lords of the Celestial sea uneasy and nervous. A name powerful crime families work for. Lorenzo providing a steady supply of valuable slaves no doubt was a profitable business. Lorenzo also hoped to deliver an Obsidian Chest containing a very valuable thing, something the Myriad would pay quite handsomely for. A map giving the location of a powerful item. The Dagger of Broken Mirrors. Three Rings extended a hand to join her, to form a new pirate band and find the Dagger. But right now a higher concern is saving Tailiya and Valcore, can it be done? While Tailiya is familiar of the man who can perform this powerful feat, to the others it is a stranger. What would they need to do to save their friends? Money? Favors? Something more? They don't know, the future is still uncertain for our heroes, but they finally receive a measure of rest, fueled a level of revenge, but at a cost that is still to be paid.
